The Gumbo Gopher 5K Run/Walk held it's first race on September 18th of 2010 in the beautiful hills of Lowry, South Dakota. If you're looking for a beautiful road race (dirt road that is) than this is the race for you.

The race was first started to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Research, a battle that our family was facing and something that we held close to our hearts. We had no idea the success and support our little country town of Lowry would have. With around 150 total participants that first year and over $4,000 raised, we considered it a huge success. Since then the support has only grown!
Each year is exciting as we are picking new charities and families to support. We consider this a huge blessing to be able to support these causes each year and pray that we can bring hope to families in need. We do this because we serve a big God that has called our family to love and support other families in need.
